Position Overview: The Repair Technician is at the heart of our Service Department team. He/she will receive units from our Dealers and customers to repair and restore them to proper working order. The Service Technician will analyze, troubleshoot, debug, and repair high end home audio equipment. The Repair Technician will give timely updates to dealer and customers on the status of their Repair. He/she will work closely with the Customer Service and Repair Manager to optimize workflow and strive for efficiency.


Duties and Responsibilities:


• Evaluate, diagnose, debug, troubleshoot, and perform all repairs for Sumiko, Pro-Ject, Sonus Faber, ROTEL and Basso Continuo brands

• Utilize test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, etc.) to troubleshoot to the component level, diagnose, and repair high end home audio equipment to our quality standards.

• Fill out all inbound and outbound paperwork/forms completely and accurately

• Professionally communicate with dealers and customers via phone and email to provide technical support, answer questions, and provide status of repairs.

• Develop work instructions and troubleshooting documents

• Perform other duties as requested or required

• Maintain an organized and orderly workspace

• Maintain shop equipment







• Associates degree or certification in Electronic Technology




• 3-5 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing high end home audio equipment (turntables, cd players, speakers, amplifiers, digital-to-analog convertors) – the ability to set-up and operate all devices)

• 2+ years of experience in a customer service role a plus


Skills and Abilities:


• Passion for maintaining an efficient workspace. Be energetic, self-motivated, and a quick thinking.

• Knowledge of how to handle electrostatic discharge

• Technically sound. Read and interpret electrical schematics (plus), components specification sheets, and service manuals

• Ability to use oscilloscope, multi-meter, distortion analyzer, and other test equipment

• Solder through hole and surface mount components, with and without magnification

• Knowledge with high end home audio equipment – turntables, cd players, speakers, amplifiers, digital-to-analog converters – the ability to set up and operate all devices

• Proficient in the use of Windows computers and Microsoft office applications

• A self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask, prioritize, and complet work activities within the deadlines.

• Effective communication skills, both orally and written. Be an excellent listener. Be able to speak

• Proven ability to work in a collaborative, team environment

• This position requires some sitting, standing, walking, repetitive movement, and lifting (< 70 lbs.)
